CTL’s ALM-i Foundations Guidebook is written to support content literacy instruction in the adolescent classroom through our Adolescent Literacy Model. The book is written to accompany our professional learning experiences. The book details the critical aspects of CTL's approach to content literacy, identifies conditions for successful literacy integrations, unit and daily planning templates, and protocols to assist teachers in refining their practice.
A significant portion of the guidebook contains the strategies that CTL recommends in order to integrate effective content literacy experiences into everyday classroom instruction. The strategy pages provide the purpose and process for effectively utilizing the strategy as well as specific content examples, probing questions for students to synthesize their learning, and considerations for implementing the strategy to make the strategy more accessible for the teacher and students.
CTL is committed to bringing equitable learning experiences to every classroom, and this guidebook along with professional supports, helps do just that.
