Unrequited love, a bumbling Ox, and a conceited Gazelle take the stage in
the heartwarming and humorous tale of XO, OX: A Love Story. This rigorous
module invites adolescents to consider the true meaning of love while
exploring calligraphy, paper handicrafts, handwriting analysis, and letter
writing etiquette. Writing lessons dive deep into form, purpose and
audience and reading work comes to life with an exploration of
Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing. You and your students will fall in
love with this rich collection of experiences that builds knowledge, skills,
and relationships.
Before you begin...
Each Artful Reading Module is flexibly designed for a 2-3 week duration. Lessons are marked for Before-, During-, or After-Reading to guide your planning. We have added a sample of an After Reading lesson entitled Love Is... for you to preview. Each lesson is designed in an easy to read format, with standards, materials needed, and step-by-step directions to ensure you are fully prepared when it’s time to deliver.
