The Very Hungry Caterpillar takes students through the life cycle of a ravenous butterfly, while using collage to illustrate its unique diet of foods. Students will observe and document the transformations of caterpillars to butterflies, and use movement scarves to act out the life cycle. Students will write and solve math word problems with the help of caterpillar puppets and fruit math counters.
