This is one of our first modules and we are so excited for you to see how we've interpreted Jackson's painting for your first graders!
Action Jackson gives readers biographical information into the life of Jackson Pollock. The reader learns about where Pollock lived and worked during his adult life and about his process as a painter. This module invites children to scribble, dance, paint, and pantomime while acknowledging that mistakes are an inherent part of creative endeavors. We have added a sample of a Before-Reading lesson entitled Jackson's Art Defined by Students for you to preview. Each lesson is formatted on a Teacher Lesson Card, so you have all the information you need at your fingertips when it’s time to deliver.
This module contains the following Teacher Lesson Cards:
- Scribble to Stardom
- Elements of Art
- Jackson’s Art Defined by Students
- Where and What
- A Beautiful Oops!
- Our Beautiful Oops!
- Encouraging One Another
- Listening & Art
