Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs is a tale about a town where food falls from the sky in just-right portions, at the perfect time, and in scrumptious combinations. This module invites students to explore the weather, “play” with food, consider what it takes to be truly “full”, and dream up their own tall tales associated with food and abundance. The supplemental texts in this module invite students to be critical thinkers and consider how to respond if presented with an abundance of food, all while using their manners.

Before you begin...

Each Artful Reading Module is flexibly designed for a 2-3 week duration.
Lessons are marked for Before-, During-, or After-Reading to guide your
planning. We have added a sample of an After Reading lesson entitled Play with Your Food for you to preview. Each lesson is designed in an easy to read format, with standards, materials needed, and step-by-step directions to ensure you are fully prepared when it’s time to deliver.
