Tikki Tikki Tembo is the retelling of a Chinese folktale that explains how firstborn children have traditionally received their names. Students learn, after firstborn Tikki Tikki Tembo falls into a well, how to apply design thinking and problem solving strategies to construct a safer well. The module explores Chinese culture and its customs, while engaging students in Asian-inspired kite-building and calligraphy writing. Like with Tikki Tikki Tembo, and other characters from this module, students will reflect on the meaning and uniqueness of their own names.
